Here’s more about NC-TEC, and why it’s a great fit for you.
We’re industry experts. NC-TEC is owned and operated by the Southeast Propane Alliance, which has been involved in developing and expanding the propane industry in North Carolina since 1957. You will learn from leaders in the state’s propane industry who know today’s customers, equipment and best practices.
No filler classes. Our classes at NC-TEC are focused strictly on propane and helping you obtain propane-industry certifications. You don’t have to take other classes, like math, history or English.
State-of-the-art facilities. The 10,000-square-foot NC-TEC facility in Raleigh, North Carolina, not only holds classrooms, but also includes Propane Village. That is where visual props and equipment are used for training. You will be able to see and touch tools and equipment like electrical boards, hydrometers, regulators, tanks, cutaways, valves, brass fittings, tools and gauges. We’re conveniently located, with hotels and restaurants within walking distance.
Hands-on training. The best way to learn about working in propane is not found in a book. At NC-TEC, you learn by doing. About 50% of your course is hands on, with equipment such as you’ll be using in the field.
No wasted time. Our intensive eight-week CETP course is designed to make sure you have the training you need for industry CETP certification. You will have 319 hours of classes and hands-on training.
What makes NC-TEC a better option for me than other schools in North Carolia?
Because NC-TEC is operated by the Southeast Propane Alliance (SEPA), which represents propane businesses all over the state, we know what you need from your training and what our businesses need from their employees. SEPA members recognize and value the training you get at NC-TEC, and frequently hire graduates of our course. While we don’t participate directly when it comes to job placement, our members let us know when they have job opportunities and they’re invited to meet our students.
Do I need technical experience to attend NC-TEC?
You don’t need technical experience for our CETP course.
